WRAA -WRAP,  Wisconsin Regional Artists Association - Wisconsin Regional Art Program

I encourage any person with a love for art to look into becoming a member of the Wisconsin Regional Artists Association (WRAA).  WRAA is a non-profit organization that works with Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP), both working with the UW-Madison, Department of Liberal Studies and the Arts.  WRAA and WRAP embraces and encourages non-professional artists from Wisconsin and its surrounding states.  Regional art exhibits are held throughout the state with the last day of each exhibit being "Workshop Day".  A local artist/lecturer gives a lecture or demonstration, followed in the afternoon by a friendly, encouraging and informative critique for the artwork that is exhibited.  State Exhibit Awards are given to one third of the exhibiting artists, with that artwork then eligible to be shown at the Annual State Exhibit at UW-Madison each September.  There, artwork is eligible for awards from art clubs, businesses and individuals.

WRAA also sponsors "Bridging Generations Youth Art Exhibit", held each year in a different Wisconsin location.  WRAA is dedicated to instilling and promoting the love of art in our youth.  Members can sponsor as many children as they would like, both individual entries by the children and collaboration pieces with sponsors are accepted.  This year's exhibit will be July 1 through July 19, 2008 at the Cultural Arts Center in Whitewater, WI, sponsored by the Whitewater Alliance.  Please visit www.wraawrap.com for more details!  The exhibit is posted on-line, so everyone can view the exhibit, regardless of where the exhibit is held each year.

The cost for WRAA membership is $15 per year, which includes members being mailed the quarterly publication Contour Notes.  Visit www.wraawrap.com  for WRAA membership information, more information on Bridging Generations Youth Art Exhibit and to view the exhibit.
